12 of Cumberland's finest represented the School in the Newham Science and Technology Challenge Day on 19th April, held at the QMW University in Mile End , despite facing fierce competion from the boroughs best, Cumberland student's displayed excellent qualities in terms of their ability to work as a team, and problem solve collaboratively while respecting the views of their peers. They were definitely shoulders above the rest and the awards received were a testimony to this.
Trieu and Kristion (Year 8) both were part of a group that were overall winners and will be representing Newham in the London challenge day. They created a paper bridge that managed to take the load of 10kg (equivalent to 10 bags of sugar).
Nhi and Jasmine (Year 8) won an award for an individual event.
